The Incheon District Prosecutors' Office indicted Heo Jong-sik of the Democratic Party of Korea without detention on charges of publishing false information during the April 10 general elections.

Lawmaker Huh posted a blog post in February, ahead of the general election, saying, "I have never seen a money envelope and no one has given it to me," when he was put on trial for violating the party law for his involvement in the "money envelope case" at the Democratic National Convention. The other candidate has been accused of publishing false information.

Earlier in August, the Seoul Central District Court convicted Heo of violating the party law and sentenced him to three months in prison, a one-year suspended sentence, and a fine of 3 million won.
