Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said today (11th), the first day of early voting for the October 16 by-elections, that the Election Commission and related authorities demand a thorough crackdown on illegal election campaigns.

Representative Lee pointed out at the Supreme Council that allegations of carrying voters in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, were raised during the early voting in the last general election, but they fizzled out, and this polarity could worsen due to the nature of the by-elections.

He also appealed to the public to actively participate in the vote, saying that the by-elections are a second round of judgment against the government and the ruling party, which refuse to wake up despite the crushing defeat in the general election.
