Prosecutors asked former professional baseball player Jung Soo-geun, who was handed over to trial for hitting his acquaintance's head with a bottle at a drinking party, to be sentenced to prison.

The Namyangju branch of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office demanded a year and a half in prison in the trial of Jeong, who was charged with special injuries.

Jung said he admitted all the crimes, but appealed for leniency, saying he couldn't remember at all due to the side effects of drugs taken for depression and insomnia at the time, and he seemed to have lost his judgment.

Earlier in mid-December last year, Jung was put on trial for injuring an acquaintance who was drinking with a beer bottle at an entertainment bar in Hojeon-dong, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.

Jeong admitted the charges and sent an apology message, but it was reported that an agreement was not reached because the victim wanted punishment.
