Investigation of truck driver charged with killing people in their 70s lying down

The Guro Police Station in Seoul is investigating a man in his 50s without detention on charges of hitting and killing a man in his 70s lying on the road with a truck.

A is accused of hitting and killing a victim who was lying drunk with a one-ton truck while turning right on the road in Oryu-dong, Seoul at around 8:20 p.m. on the 2nd.

The victim was taken to the hospital when A reported that a drunk person had collapsed, but he suffered a serious rib injury and eventually died the next day.

It is understood that A told the police that he did not know about the accident, saying he thought he/she had crossed the speed bump, but the police are investigating whether he/she was negligent.

In addition, while black boxes were sent to the National Forensic Service and the Korea Road Transportation Corporation for a detailed analysis, we plan to investigate Mr. A for a lie detector soon.
