In response to North Korea's claim that South Korea sent drones to Pyongyang to disperse propaganda leaflets against North Korea, the South Korean military said it did not have such a fact, but made an official statement that it could not confirm it in about an hour.

Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said yesterday that he would check the situation when asked about it during a parliamentary inspection of the government by the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee.

Afterwards, Minister Kim left the National Assembly and held an emergency meeting, and when he came back, he said, "Our basic position is that we cannot confirm whether North Korea's claims are true or not."

When lawmakers repeatedly asked that the military's position was ambiguous, they said they had no choice but to express that they could not confirm it strategically, stressing that they could not confirm it for national security or operational security.

It seems to be intended to confuse the North's response, leaving open the possibility of North Korea's false claims and the possibility that a civilian drone went to the North.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff also issued the same position as Minister Kim, warning that North Korea is responsible for all the current situations, and that if it threatens the safety of our people in any form, it will be punished firmly and desperately.
