Seosan City said residents found a spotted seal near the Udo dock in Jigok-myeon at around 9 a.m. today, and the seal died while moving to an aquarium in Gyeonggi-do Province after emergency measures were taken to prevent exhaustion.
Spotted seals have lived on the west coast of Korea, but their population is known to be gradually decreasing due to marine pollution, warming, and development.
