The Joint Chiefs of Staff said on the 10th local time, Hanbit's unit held a rice harvest event at John Garang University in Bor, South Sudan, harvesting 500 kilograms of rice and distributing it to local residents.
Earlier in July, Hanbit Unit planted rice with four varieties, including three Korean rice seeds and African rice, on the 1,100㎡ site of the school.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff explained that rice and rice seeds harvested by the Hanbit unit have been sold to local residents, and some will be used as research materials for the spread of rice farming in South Sudan.
Along with the rice harvest event, the Hanbit Unit held an entrance ceremony for the Hanbit Vocational School to transfer Korean agricultural technology, and began education for 40 local agricultural students and five local residents.
