Park Dan-dan, chairman of the emergency response committee of the Korean Medical Association, shared an article on social media today that the number of medical students who are not military doctors is increasing and asked what the defense minister's countermeasures against the collapse of the military medical system are.
At the same time, about 1,000 doctors were deployed as military doctors and public health doctors every year, and among those who gave up their residency training, 4,353 people will be enlisted in March next year, four times more than in previous years.
In the meantime, specialists have been selected first as military doctors, and most of the people who will be enlisted next year are general doctors, so they are concerned that the management of personnel such as military hospitals will be disrupted in the future.
In addition, students who took a leave of absence also applied to active-duty soldiers and social service personnel, and 1,059 students have been approved for military leave, pointing out what will happen to the absence of military doctors or public health after they are discharged from the military.
