A survey showed that Shigeru Ishiba's approval rating of the Japanese cabinet, which was launched on the 1st, fell by about 8 percentage points in just over 10 days.

Kyodo News reported that in a two-day telephone poll of 1,264 people ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives elections on the 27th, Ishiba's Cabinet approval rating was 42%, 8.7 percentage points lower than the survey earlier this month.

The percentage of respondents who said they did not support Ishiba's cabinet rose 7.8 percentage points to 36.7 percent from 28.9 percent.

In response to Prime Minister Ishiba's decision not to nominate 12 lawmakers who were disciplined for their involvement in the Liberal Democratic Party's "private finance scandal," 71.6% said they thought it was insufficient, while only 22.1% said they thought it was sufficient.
