Netflix announced on the 12th local time that it has opened a "Squid Game: The Experience" experience zone at the Manhattan Mall near Koreatown in Manhattan, New York.
It is the second squid game experience space after Los Angeles (LA) last December.
Visitors crossed the glass stepping stone, played marbles, and had mugunghwa flowers bloomed for about an hour. You can enjoy five games inspired by back dramas yourself.
Netflix plans to open this squid game experience space in Korea early next year.
The final winner will be determined by 24 contestants competing as a group and the score will be automatically calculated through a band on the wrist.
The experience center will also feature "Night Market," where you can taste Korean snacks, and "Squid Mart," which sells squid game-themed items and clothing.
You can enter the night market and squid mart for free, and if you want to enjoy games and side events, you need to buy a ticket of between 40,000 and 80,000 won for our money.
Netflix is opening an additional experience space in Madrid, Spain, this month following the New York Experience Zone.
We plan to open experience zones in Sydney, Australia in December and Seoul, Korea in early January next year.
"Squid Game is the most popular TV show in Netflix's history with 265 million viewers," Josh Simon, Netflix's vice president of consumer products, said at a pre-media showcase.
"The sportswear that appeared in Squid Game last year during the Halloween season in the United States is also the most popular, and it is also having a big impact on product sales," he said.
Simon introduced that he is also consulting with various Korean companies such as Shinsegae and CJ CheilJedang (Vivigo) to launch products related to Netflix content.
