8 car crash on Gyeongbu Expressway...2 dead and 12 injured.

At around 6:30 p.m. today (13th), an SUV crashed into a shoulder guardrail near the Cheongju Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway and collided with seven other vehicles.Two people were taken to the hospital in the

accident, but 12 others were injured.

In addition, all four lanes in the direction of Seoul were closed for nearly two hours in the aftermath of the accident.

In a police investigation, the driver of the SUV made a statement to the effect that the car suddenly hit the guardrail to stop because it didn't listen.

Police officials are investigating the cause of the accident, including whether the vehicle is defective.
