Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he expressed regret at Italian Prime Minister Jorja Meloni over the injuries to U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon.

In a post to X, Netanyahu said he would do everything in his power to prevent damage to the UN forces, while also taking the necessary steps to win the war.

In response to the announcement that its tanks were forced into UN bases, the Israeli military explained that it had stopped firing by enemy forces and withdrew the tanks after the evacuation.

However, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Deinan accused the UN of incomprehensible refusal to move peacekeepers from war zones.
