The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency said it has cracked down on 256 election offenders and sent 93 people in connection with the 22nd National Assembly election.

By type of crackdown, the spread of false information was the most at about 47%, followed by receipt of money and valuables and damage to posters.

Compared to the 21st National Assembly election held in 2020, the number of election offenders in Gyeongnam has more than doubled.

Police analyzed that external election campaigns were difficult due to the influence of COVID-19 during the 21st general election.
