The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced today (14th) that it held a public-private consultative body launch meeting at the Sejong Government Complex as a follow-up measure to stabilize construction costs.
The consultative body operates around inducing autonomous price adjustments between consumers and suppliers in major construction material markets and resolving industry difficulties.
The consultative body discussed the price of ready-mixed concrete, cement, which continues to rise.
The cement industry suggested easing regulations to ease the burden on the industry, saying that tightening environmental regulations had affected the price increase.
In addition, the ready-mixed concrete industry suggested improving the supply and demand control policy for construction machinery related to the supply and demand of ready-mixed concrete mixers, and the construction industry suggested the need to stabilize cement and ready-mixed concrete prices.
In response, Kim Sang-moon, director of construction policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said he would run a public-private consultative body with related ministries to quickly resolve the difficulties proposed by each industry and stabilize the construction material market.
