Do you remember the "Japanese Murder Case" that took place at an apartment complex in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul in July?

This is the case in which a man in his 30s, identified only by his surname Baek, brutally killed a neighbor in his 40s who he had never met with.

At that time, the Japanese knife wielded by the suspect was licensed for "decoration", so where did he buy it?

Police found two business owners who sold Japanese swords to suspects in tracking the distribution of illegal swords online after the incident.

It was a company that received proper permission to manufacture and sell swords.

However, under the current law, e-commerce through the Internet is prohibited, and these owners are also accused of selling swords through their website.

In addition, the police arrested five people who tried to sell or sell swords without permission on used trading platforms such as used countries and carrot markets and confiscated eight swords.

The sellers were self-employed and housewives in their 30s and 40s, and they are accused of trading swords for 160,000 won to 200,000 won on the Internet.

If there's someone who's sold it, there's someone who's bought it.

The police purchased a large amount of swords from an online shopping mall of an unauthorized company, caught seven more people who illegally possessed them, and confiscated 30 swords.

Our society should monitor it together as it can lead to sloppy sword management and brutal killings, resulting in innocent victims.
