For the first time in Korea, fossils of Stegosaurus dinosaur footprints have been found in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province.

Geoje City said it found fossils of dinosaur footprints such as stegosaurus and hadrosaurids in Cheonggok-ri, Sadung-myeon.

Stegosaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur that lived from 155 million years ago to 150 million years ago.

Geoje also added that more than 10 species of animal traces, including flippers and vibrating bird footprints fossils, have also been found, showing the high biodiversity of the Cretaceous period.

Geoje explained that this achievement was achieved in an investigation service entrusted to the Korea Geological Heritage Research Institute affiliated with Jinju National University of Education.
