Since former President Roh Tae-woo's alleged slush funds surfaced during the divorce lawsuit between SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Art Center Director Roh So-young, there have been continuous complaints to investigate it.

The May 18 Memorial Foundation also filed a complaint, and the prosecution is considering whether it is possible to investigate because there are issues such as the statute of limitations.

The May 18 Memorial Foundation has joined the ranks of former President Roh Tae-woo's family's accusation of slush funds.

The targets of the charges are former President Roh's wife Kim Ok-sook, daughter Roh So-young, director of the Navi Center at the Art Center, and son Roh Jae-heon, director of the East Asian Cultural Center.

[Won Soon-seok / Chairman of the May 18 Memorial Foundation: I think it doesn't make sense to take power and create corrupt slush funds, then inherit the slush funds and leave them to his own children]

Earlier, the second trial court of Roh and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won determined that 30 billion won, estimated to be Roh's slush fund, flowed to former SK Group Chairman Choi Jong-hyun based on Kim's memo.

The memo contained a list of funds worth 90.4 billion won, which was not revealed during the prosecution's investigation into the "six-public secret funds" in 1995,
Based on this, the
Foundation claimed that Director Roh and others recognized the reality of fraudulent accumulated property on their own.

In addition, a recent parliamentary audit revealed that Mrs. Kim kept 21 billion won of slush funds under her name, laundered them with insurance money, and 15.2 billion won was illegally donated to her son in the form of donations, adding that the hidden slush funds are estimated to be around 120 billion won.

Roh's brother and sister, who are suspected, were adopted as witnesses for the parliamentary audit but did not appear, and Justice Minister Park Sung-jae also said the prosecution will investigate if necessary.

According to the previous accusation, the prosecution, which is already looking into the slush fund allegations, explained that it is in the process of reviewing specific charges and the possibility of an investigation.

In particular, the prosecution is said to be considering whether director Roh and others have passed the statute of limitations on charges of receiving and concealing illegal funds.

As the Minister of Justice mentioned that he would investigate if necessary and related charges are continuing, we are interested in whether the prosecution will start a full-fledged investigation after reviewing the legal principles on the slush fund allegations.
