Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Agency, emphasized that the money sent to his home country by workers dispatched to Germany in the 1960s and 1970s served as the foundation for the national economic development.

On the 14th, Commissioner Lee invited workers to encourage them on the occasion of the 1st Dispatched Workers' Day, saying that the excellent reputation built by the dispatched workers in the local community served as the foundation for the growth of European compatriots.

At the same time, Commissioner Lee explained that he will continue to listen to the voices of dispatched workers and try to reflect them in policies.

About 130 people attended the meeting, including 32 overseas Koreans living in Germany and other countries, and 48 dispatched workers who returned to Korea and settled in Korea.

In accordance with the basic policy of promoting the policy of caring for compatriots suitable for national dignity, the Overseas Korean Administration also held events and photo exhibitions to invite workers to their home countries to mark the 60th anniversary of the destruction last year.
