In a policy pledge dubbed the "An Agenda of Opportunity for Black Men," the Harris camp promised to guarantee Black-run companies access to new industries and legalize marijuana.
It also included strengthening Black people's access to the virtual currency industry and initiatives to respond to diseases that have a high incidence of Black men.
Black people, as many as 14% of U.S. voters, have been perceived as traditional supporters of the Democratic Party, but recent polls show no vote-gathering than in the 2020 presidential election, raising the sense of crisis in Harris' camp.
A recent New York Times poll showed Harris' approval rating of 78% for Black people, a big difference from what drove Biden 90% of the vote in 2020.
