The Korea Institute of Industrial Economics and Trade said its fourth-quarter sales forecast BSI was 95, according to a survey of 1,500 manufacturers in South Korea last month.
Based on 100, BSI says that closer to 200, sales will increase from the previous quarter, and more say that closer to zero, sales will decrease.
Earlier, the quarterly BSI fell to 98 in the third quarter after hitting 102 in the second quarter, and was even lower in the fourth quarter.
By industry, wireless communication devices, secondary batteries, and bio-health were expected to increase in sales beyond 100, but most industries, including semiconductors, displays, home appliances, and automobiles, were below 100.
