National real estate transactions down 10.6 pct in August from previous month

The nation's real estate trading volume, which exceeded 100,000 transactions in July, fell by 10% in August compared to the previous month.

According to data released today by real estate firm Real Estate Planet, 93,317 real estate transactions took place across the country in August, down 10.6% from July, and the third-lowest this year after February and January.

The amount of real estate transactions nationwide in August was 36.34 trillion won, down 17.3% from July.

Looking at apartments alone, the nationwide transaction volume in August was 42,374 and the transaction amount was 21.436 trillion won, down 11.5% and 20.2% from the previous month, respectively.
