In accordance with the inter-Korean agreement, North Korea unilaterally blew up some of the North's roads on the Gyeongui Line and the East Sea Line, where our budget was invested.

In other words, the inter-Korean road was completely blocked, and our military responded by saying it was a violation of the Armistice Agreement, and the government condemned it as a clear violation of the inter-Korean agreement.

Explosion with flames occurs on the dirt road on the North Korean side of the Military Demarcation Line, where the screen is installed.

On the right, you can see a road sign called "Gaeseong-si from here," and North Korean soldiers are taking pictures in the back of the distance.

North Korea is blasting part of the Gyeongui Line inter-Korean connection road.

Around the same time, CCTV footage of the explosion on the inter-Korean road on the East Sea Line was caught on our side.

As North Korea announced, it cut off the Gyeongui and East Sea lines in August and completely blocked roads this time.

[North Korea's Korean Central Television (January): Including the complete physical cutoff of the Gyeongui Line, which existed as a symbol of inter-Korean exchange and cooperation, to an irreparable level....]

North Korea has been blocking inter-Korean land routes since Kim Jong-un's declaration of the "two-state theory" late last year.

Starting with the spraying of leaf landmines near the Gyeongui Line road, landmines were laid and streetlights were removed, and landmines were blown up.

The South Korean government issued a statement in the name of the Ministry of Unification and said it condemned North Korea's unconventional measures, saying that the bombing of the connecting road was a clear violation of the inter-Korean agreement.

[Koo Byung-sam / Unification Ministry spokesman: It shows once again the unilateral bombing of the South-North Joint Liaison Office, which had been operating for more than a year under an agreement between the two Koreas, four years ago, citing leaflets against the North....]

Immediately after the bombing, the South Korean military fired back at the area south of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL).

In addition, while closely watching the North Korean military's activities, we strengthened surveillance and alertness under the cooperation of the U.S. and South Korea.
