Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok said he would come up with a "secondary social mobility improvement plan" next month to promote economic activities for vulnerable groups such as young people, women and middle-aged people.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi made the remarks at a meeting of economy-related ministers at the Government Complex Seoul today, saying he will actively pursue countermeasures in areas with high difficulties.

Choi said the key indicators are good, with employment and participation in economic activities hitting all-time highs last month, but the number of people employed in the construction industry is decreasing and the difficulties of vulnerable groups such as young people continue.

Regarding the economic trend, he said domestic constraints such as inflation and financial cost burden are gradually easing, but the economic sentiment remains difficult, adding that he will continue to supplement domestic demand and people's livelihoods.
