The price monitoring center of the Korea Consumer Organization Council said 23 out of 37 daily necessities in the third quarter of this year were up 4.3 percent on average from the same period last year.
By item, flavor rose the most at 19%, followed by red pepper paste, sugar, and soy sauce.
The most expensive item was ham, down 9% from the same period last year, and cooking oil and flour also fell.
The council pointed out that domestic consumer prices need to be lowered as international sugar prices, which are raw materials for sugar, are stable.
