It has been alleged that former President Roh Tae-woo's family inherited slush funds expediently using the East Asian Cultural Center, a public interest corporation.

Rep. Kim Young-hwan of the Democratic Party raised suspicions that former President Roh's wife Kim Ok-soon donated 14.7 billion won to the East Asian Cultural Center, where her son Roh Jae-heon is the chairman of the board, for five years from 2016.

In particular, he pointed out that the relationship between Kim and Chairman Roh was listed as "not applicable" in the list of contributors to the East Asian Cultural Center's settlement documents in 2020.

In addition, even though the center is a public corporation, the net public service expenditure excluding labor costs is only about 80 million won, 0.3% of the total assets.
