The Korea Forest Service claimed that about half of last year's landslides were "tossa runoff."

In a parliamentary audit held at the National Assembly today (16th), the Korea Forest Service said this in response to a question from Rep. Lim Mi-ae of the Democratic Party of Korea about the difference in the number of landslides.

The Korea Forest Service explained that the collapse on agricultural land and road slopes was classified as a "earth spill" because it was different from landslides collapsing at the top of the mountain, and that the division was made in consideration of who was responsible for the accident.

In response, Rep. Lim Mi-ae criticized the Korea Forest Service for its intention to avoid responsibility for mountain management by reducing the damage from landslides, saying there is no legal basis to distinguish between landslides and soil runoff.

The Korea Forest Service reported seven landslides that caused casualties last year, but the Board of Audit and Inspection counted 13 cases and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security counted 15, sparking controversy over the reduction.
