HUG, 4.5 trillion won in bad debts alone erased by the accounting manager's department since 2000.

The Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation and HUG have lost 4.5 trillion won since 2000 to reduce the amount of debt in accounting.

According to the data received by Lee Chun-seok, a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, from 2000 to last year, HUG had a total of 4.5346 trillion won worth of bond amortization.

Bond amortization is the removal of the amount of bonds that are unlikely to recover due to the debtor's bankruptcy or non-recoverability from ordinary bonds by deducting them from profits, which HUG has reduced its accounting debt by amortizing bad bonds.

The combined amount of HUG's debt and amortization amounts to 8 trillion won, and HUG recorded a net loss of 3.8958 trillion won last year alone.
