In response, the Israeli military said the airstrike on the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital in the early hours of the 14th targeted the Hamas command headquarters in the hospital's parking lot and hit the terrorist who was carrying out the operation precisely.
It also said a fire, believed to have been caused by a second explosion, broke out in the hospital's parking lot shortly after the airstrike, adding it was investigating the incident.
He also accused Hamas of endangering civilians by operating with them as shields.
As the refugee camp tent was engulfed in flames and a video showing a person on fire was released, the international community raised criticism against Israel to stop the atrocities.
"We have made our concerns clear to the Israeli government," the U.S. State Department said, calling it a "terrible incident."
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement, "There is no safe place for people to go in Gaza," and stressed that "people were burned to death" and that the atrocities must end.
Gaza's health ministry said at least four people were killed and more than 40 injured in the airstrike.
