South Korea-Japan Foreign Ministers' Meeting to Discuss Measures to Respond to North Korean Threats

First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun held a meeting with Japan's Deputy Foreign Minister Masataka Okano to discuss ways to respond to North Korea's recent escalating threats.

The two met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Seoul this morning to discuss cooperation and countermeasures between the two countries over the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula.

In addition, we reviewed the progress of the project to be carried out next year, which marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations, and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations.

Following the South Korea-U.S. foreign ministers' meeting yesterday, Kim held a trilateral foreign ministers' meeting and strongly condemned North Korea for its acts of adjusting tensions.
