Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the front lines of both sides (China and Taiwan) the day after Taiwan's siege drill, according to reports.

Hong Kong's Mingbo and the South China Morning Post (SCMP) said President Xi visited Dongshan County in southern Fujian Province facing the Taiwan Strait on the 15th.

Dongsan County, which consists of 44 large and small islands, is a place where the Kuomintang army, which retreated to Taiwan after losing in the Civil War, tried to recapture it by 1953, but failed.

With the Chinese military invading Taiwan in mind, they have repeatedly conducted landing drills on several islands in Dongshan County, and have used them as military gathering sites during the last three Taiwan siege drills.

Earlier, on the 14th, the Chinese military conducted a 13-hour joint Regen-2024B exercise to block Taiwan under the pretext of President Lei Ching-de's "Bilateral Theory" in his National Foundation Day speech.
