Chu said at the Supreme Council that he urged the Democratic Party to take a forward-looking stance so that the Constitutional Court can function as soon as possible by recommending a constitutional judge in accordance with the long-standing practice of the National Assembly.
The Democratic Party of Korea then criticized that in the case of the three constitutional judges recommended by the National Assembly, the ruling and opposition parties have threatened to push for the two arbitrarily, ignoring the convention of recommending one person each and by agreement between the ruling and opposition parties.
He also stressed that if the Constitutional Court stops functioning, the Republic of Korea will stop, and that the 22nd National Assembly cannot leave a record in history that it caused the suspension of the constitution due to political strife.
