Lawyer Kang Yong-seok, who was handed over to trial on charges of raising suspicions of political and economic collusion between Cho Kuk, chairman of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, and a financial company, was also convicted in the second trial.

The Seoul Central District Court today (17th) sentenced Kang to a fine of 5 million won on charges of defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act, as in the first trial.

Another innocent teacher charge was sentenced to six months in prison and two years of probation.

The court criticized that Kang did not make a thorough effort to confirm the facts after receiving a simple e-mail report, and that the nature of the crime was quite bad in the case of an innocent teacher. In 2019, Kang

was put on trial on charges of defamation on his YouTube channel after raising suspicions that Kim Kyung-rok, a private banker at Korea Investment & Securities Co., the asset manager of CEO Cho and his wife, was a relative of the owner's family of Hantu Securities Co., Ltd.

He was also charged with encouraging Kim Mi-na, a famous blogger, to falsely sue the head of a securities company for rape and injury in 2015.
