Yeongam Police Station in Jeollanam-do said on the 17th that it is investigating a man in his 50s, a one-ton truck driver, on charges of dangerous driving death under the Specific Crime Weighted Penalty Act and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
Mr. A hit two drivers of a car while driving a truck drunk on the first lane of a road in Sinbuk-myeon, Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, at around 7 p.m. the previous evening.
The women were taken to hospital but all died.
According to a police investigation, it was confirmed that A drove while drunk at the level of revocation of his/her license. A is said to have stated, "I couldn't see the vehicle well because the view was dark because it was a rural road."
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident based on A's statements.
