In the sentencing hearing of a man in his 30s, A, who was handed over to trial on charges of permanent murder, the Suwon High Court dismissed both the prosecutor's and the defendant's appeals and maintained the original trial, which sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
The court explained that it does not accept the claim that the sentence is excessive as it is confirmed that A has been harassing his mother when he is drunk, and that his mother died due to indiscriminate violence.
A was put on trial on December 9 last year on charges of beating his mother in her 60s with her hands and feet several times at an apartment in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
At that time, it was investigated that A committed the crime in anger at his mother's words to go to the hospital because he was suspected of having a mental illness.
