[Gyeonggi] Hwaseong City agrees to attract 'seasonal workers' with General Luna City in the Philippines.

Hwaseong City has signed a "business agreement to attract foreign seasonal workers" with the Philippines' General Luna City to solve the problem of rural manpower shortages.The city of

will provide counseling and guidance for foreign seasonal workers, while the city of General Luna will support the necessary administrative procedures before departure from the Philippines, including the selection and training of suitable workers.

will conduct a demand survey for foreign seasonal workers on farms in the jurisdiction in November, and will allocate workers to farms from the first half of 2025.

Foreign seasonal workers will work for five months (extended by three months) after signing a labor contract with farmers in the jurisdiction registered as an agricultural management company.

Mayor Chung Myung-geun said, "This agreement is an important first step to revitalize the agricultural sector in line with the launch of 1 million Hwaseong Special City in 2025. We expect the agreement with General Luna City to be of great help in resolving the rural manpower shortage in Hwaseong City."
