The companies caught include seven that did not report waste treatment, four that operated unreported facilities, and two that violated waste treatment standards.
Among them, companies that did not report waste disposal have been found to have set up scrap metal and avoided crackdowns by selecting places with no houses or remote areas.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon said, "We will continue to investigate strictly and strongly in the future by indiscriminately spreading large scrap metal statues, polluting the local environment and interfering with citizens' safety."
