BBQ Group Chairman Yoon Hong-geun, charged with breach of trust, fined 30 million won in the first trial.

Yoon Hong-geun, chairman of Genesis BBQ Group, was fined in the first trial for lending holding company funds to a family company suffering from financial difficulties and causing damage to the company.

Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court sentenced Yoon to a fine of 30 million won today (17th) at a trial on charges of breach of trust.

The court ruled that 210 million won out of 4.3 billion won in breach of trust filed by the prosecution was unfairly funded even though there was no interest between Genesis BBQ and the family company.

However, the court judged that there was no charge for the remaining 4.1 billion won.

Chairman Yoon was put on trial on charges of causing damage by not taking measures to recover after lending billions of won in Genesis BBQ funds to a private company over three years from 2013.
