Autumn heavy rain with gusts of wind was predicted across the country between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

In particular, there is a possibility of heavy rain up to 120mm on the east coast of Gangwon-do, and the first snow in the mountains.

After the rain stops, the cold comes and the morning temperature in Seoul and other places drops significantly to the single digits.

Reporter Jung Hye-yoon's report.

Heavy rains like summer have been predicted across the country as if it were a deepening autumn.

This is because a strong low pressure on the West Sea flows inland, and strong rain with gusts is expected to fall between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

In particular, the north wind accompanied by the cold in the north will flow in from the south, and the rain clouds will develop stronger.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said the rain will bring up to 120mm of autumn heavy rain on the east coast and mountains of Gangwon Province, and up to 100mm of rain on the southern coast of Busan and other areas.

In particular, heavy rain of up to 80mm was predicted in parts of the metropolitan area, including northeastern Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, and Chungcheong inland.

In addition, there is a possibility that the first snow will fall for the first time this fall in the mountains of Gangwon-do, where the temperature is low.

[Kim Young-joon / Meteorological Agency forecaster: A lot of precipitation is expected across the country as the low pressure that developed on Friday and Saturday passes, especially on the southern coast where lower jets flow in and on the eastern coast of Gangwon Province, where the east wind continues to flow in.]

Therefore, in places where autumn heavy rain is predicted, fallen leaves accumulated around the drainage channel must be removed in advance to prevent flooding damage.

In addition, wind gusts of more than 20m/s on the coast and mountainous areas and more than 15m/s in the interior can blow, so be careful about damage to facilities such as standing boards.

In particular, after the rain stops, a strong cold will descend south, and the temperature in inland areas such as Seoul will drop to single digits.

[Woo Jin-gyu / YTN Disaster Advisory Committee, Meteorological Agency Information Officer: Temperatures are expected to plummet due to cold air falling from the north. Therefore, dangerous weather factors that can affect traffic, such as road thin ice, are also expected.

Also, the risk of flooding in low-lying coastal areas is expected to increase as a contrast period will overlap with rising sea water levels by Sunday.
