Israeli Foreign Minister Katz issued a statement officially confirming that Yahya Sinwar, responsible for the massacre and atrocities, was killed by Israeli forces on October 7 last year.

Katz said, "This is a military and moral achievement by Israel and a victory for the entire free world against the evil axis of Islam led by Iran."

The Israeli military also said it killed three Hamas members in an operation in southern Gaza on the 16th, one of whom turned out to be Sinwar.

Sinwar was the architect and mastermind of Hamas' raid on Israel on October 7 last year and has been considered the "first target of removal" of the Israeli military.

In late July, Hamas's supreme political leader Ismail Haniyeh took over after he was killed in an apparent Israeli assassination attack in Tehran.

But in about two months, even his successor, Shinwar, was killed,
"Hamas will no longer rule Gaza," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video address. "The opportunity has come for the people of Gaza to escape Hamas tyranny."

He also vowed to "continue the war with all his might until all his loved ones return" to the families of Israeli hostages who were kidnapped during the Hamas raid.

He then emphasized, "The war is not over yet."

Hamas has not yet made an official statement.

However, with the death of Haniyeh and Sinwar, it seems inevitable that Hamas' organizational operations and governance capabilities will be affected.
