Lee Chan-hee, chairman of Samsung's compliance monitoring committee, Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, said it is right to do his best in responsible management by returning to the registered director until the trial results are released.

Chairman Lee met with reporters before a regular meeting of the quasi-supervision committee held at Samsung Life Insurance's Seocho office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, today (18th) and made the remarks when asked if it would be possible for Chairman Lee to return to the registered executive, whose judicial risks have not been resolved.

Earlier, in his 2023 annual report publisher, Lee urged Samsung to improve its governance structure, including the reconstruction of its control tower and the return of its CEO to registered executives.

When asked if the reconstruction of the control tower could be completed at the third quasi-supervision committee, Chairman Lee said his thoughts were certain, but explained that there were various opinions within the quasi-supervision committee and Samsung.

He also added that he should do more important things first regarding the possibility of a meeting with Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
