Representatives from 32 NATO allies, four Indo-Pacific partners (IP4), and the European Union (EU) attended the session to discuss security issues in Europe, the Atlantic Ocean and the Indo-Pacific, including the war in Ukraine and military cooperation with North Korea.
Vice Minister Kim evaluated that NATO's first invitation of partners such as South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand to the NATO Defense Ministers' Meeting proves that the security environment of the Atlantic Ocean and the Indo-Pacific is closely connected.
Referring to the "comprehensive strategic partnership" signed by North Korea and Russia in June, he stressed that strengthening military cooperation and arms trade between North Korea and Russia pose a direct threat to Ukraine and that the international community should respond together through solidarity and cooperation.
