1.74 million elderly people vaccinated against COVID-19 in a week

More than 1.74 million elderly people were vaccinated within a week of COVID-19 vaccination.

According to data from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the number of elderly people aged 70 or older who received new COVID-19 vaccines by yesterday (17th) was 1.74 million, more than doubling compared to the first week of vaccination last year.

In particular, the percentage of influenza vaccination and simultaneous vaccination according to the recommendation exceeded 91%.

Health officials stressed that people between the ages of 65 and 69 can receive the COVID-19 vaccine from today, and asked for early vaccination as possible to have sufficient preventive effects.
