British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has pointed out that North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia shows "desperation."

"If this is true, it seems to be an act of desperation above all else," Starmer told reporters during a visit to Berlin, Germany, on the 18th local time.

Starmer did not specifically mention Russia, but the British media Evening Standard interpreted it as a statement intended to show Russian President Vladimir Putin's desperation.

"The situation is very difficult, but it is also true that Russia is getting weaker," Starmer said, explaining that the war accounts for 40% of Russia's national budget and that Russia suffered its largest daily casualties ever last month.

On the 12th, Britain's Ministry of Defense said an average of 1,271 Russian troops were killed or injured a day last month, the highest figure since the war in Ukraine.
