Hamas has officially confirmed the death of its supreme leader, Yahya Sinwar.

Hamas has vowed a decisive battle, saying there will be no release of hostages unless Israel withdraws from Gaza and releases its prisoners.

It wasn't until 24 hours after reports of Yahya Sinwar's death that Hamas responded.

Hamas says Sinwar has dedicated his soul to God on the road to Palestinian liberation and has vowed to continue fighting after him.

"We will march towards the great martyr Sinwar," Hamas military group Al-Qassam Brigade said in a separate statement. "For God's sake, let us stand with Islamic fighters on the road to liberation of Palestine."

In addition, he emphasized, "It is delusional to think that the enemy can extinguish the flame of resistance by assassinating the leader."

Lebanon's pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah also issued a statement, saying, "The great leader Yahya Sinwar has become a martyr on the way to Jerusalem."

Neighboring Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan, Libya and Yemen, held a series of rallies to commemorate Sinwar and condemn Israel.

[Lula Hrubb / Jordanian Labor Secretary: If one leader is martyred, a hundred will take over, and if one resistance is martyred, a thousand will take over.]

Israel's insurgents, including Hamas and Hezbollah, have been hit hard by losing their leaders one after another, but their will to resist seems to be hardly dampened.
