Kang Hye-kyung, who exposed the recordings related to Kim Gun-hee and Myung Tae-kyun, will appear as a witness at the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee's parliamentary audit tomorrow (21st).

A battle of truth is expected over the illegality or quid pro quo of the opinion poll conducted by Myung during the last presidential election.

I'm reporter Na Hye-in.

Kang Hye-kyung, who predicted her attendance at the National Assembly, is the accounting director of former lawmaker Kim Young-sun, a former public power, and an employee who worked as a practitioner at the Korea Institute for Future Studies, a polling company suspected of being actually operated by Myung Tae-kyun.

reports rigged polls in favor of President Yoon Suk Yeol during the last presidential election,

In return, he claimed that he tried to win the nomination of former lawmaker Kim through First Lady Kim Gun-hee.

At that time, he also raised suspicions that the cost of conducting the poll was fraudulent back money.

Myung, who met with YTN reporters, refuted that he delivered the results of several public polls to President Yoon ahead of the presidential election, but there was no illegality during the investigation and never called for nomination.

Kang claimed that he was falsely accused of manipulating the figures with the intention of distorting public opinion, although he had corrected the results of his own investigation, which he would not publish to the outside world, to accurately analyze the situation.

He said that he was not involved in raising the cost of the investigation, regardless of the management of the future Korea Research Institute.

[Myeong Tae Gyun: If you got it in return for nomination, why would they pay it back?] Don't I have to pay it back? That's why the Future Korea Institute needs to be named Myung Tae-kyun, so everything about this crime is true.]

People's power is distancing itself, saying it is questionable how credible the various suspicions surrounding Myung are.

He said he would push for the so-called "Myeongtae bacillus Prevention Act" that permanently kicks out illegal polling institutions, and emphasized that we should focus on improving the system rather than an unknown truth battle.

[Choo Kyung-ho / People's Power Floor Leader: For the rest of the year, we will be able to stop political strife, check people's livelihoods, and seek alternatives..]

On the other hand, the opposition party is pressuring Myung to appear at the National Assembly, saying that allegations of manipulation of public opinion or leakage of party members' information should never be taken lightly.

Recently, Myung's explanation has changed subtly, raising suspicions that he is under pressure or conciliation.

[Kim Yoon-deok / Secretary-General of the Democratic Party of Korea] We think there is a lot of shocking content, and we need to get more active on this issue by Myung Tae-kyun..]

has threatened to take legal action immediately if false information is revealed at the National Audit Office.

Politicians are paying keen attention to whether meaningful testimony will be made to investigate or dispel suspicions during the remaining parliamentary inspection period.
