Director Yeon Sang-ho of 'Hell 2' revealed why he selected Kim Sung-chul as an actor to replace Yoo Ah-in in season 2.

The production presentation for the Netflix series 'Hell' Season 2 was held at 11 a.m. today (21st) at Dongdaemun Square in JW Marriott, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Director Yeon Sang-ho, writer Choi Kyu-seok, actors Kim Hyun-joo, Kim Sung-chul, Kim Shin-rok, Im Sung-jae, Moon So-ri and Moon Geun-young attended.

In particular, attention was focused on Kim Sung-chul, who fills the vacancy of Yoo Ah-in, who played Jung Jin-soo in season 1. As Yoo Ah-in is investigated by the police on charges of habitual propofol administration, he will drop out of season 2 and Kim Sung-chul will be replaced to play Jung Jin-soo.

When asked about the background of casting Kim Sung-chul, director Yeon Sang-ho said, "Kim Sung-chul was mentioned as an actor who was so good at acting at the same age. What I liked the most was that it felt similar to Jung Jin-soo in the original cartoon. When we met, we talked about it, and I felt the energy," he said.

Coach Yeon then said, "In a way, I thought it could be a 'double-edged sword', but I gave a stronger feeling that I could play the role well than fear." After that, I went to see a musical, and the energy was enormous. I've had a lot of faith," he added.

When asked how he felt about joining director Yeon Sang-ho's work, Kim Sung-chul replied, "I loved 'Hell' Season 1, and I thought I wanted to work together someday because I was a fan of director Yeon Sang-ho, but I was happy to do season 2."

As for the role, he said, "I have a desire to implement the original work if there is one. The hairstyle was also styled close to the original. Jung Jin-soo was happy while acting because he was attractive, and he was confident that he would be able to meet a very three-dimensional and attractive person.

Season 2 of the Netflix series 'Hell' will be released on the 25th.
