Cat abuse. Arrested in their 30s... "I was going to move it somewhere else."

Police have arrested a man accused of abusing cats that he used to raise at a mart in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do with sticks.

Cheonan Seobuk Police Station said it arrested A in his 30s on charges of violating the Animal Protection Act and stealing and booked him without detention.

Mr. A is accused of beating two cats he had at a mart in Seongseong-dong, Cheonan with the back of a stick and taking one of them away at around midnight on the 4th.

In a police investigation, A reportedly stated that the cats kept opening trash bags near the house and tried to move them to another place, and that the cat he took was released to a highway rest stop.

Police said no more cats have been abused, adding that they plan to turn the case over to the prosecution soon.
