According to the data from the Korea Labor Welfare Corporation, 28 applications for industrial accidents for heat stroke and heat exhaustion were confirmed by September this year.
This year, more than half of the applications for industrial accidents for thermal diseases, or 16 cases, came from construction sites.
Compared to 20 industrial accident applications during the same period last year, the number of industrial accident approval cases has increased by 40% this year, and the number of industrial accident approval cases has also increased by 40% from 18 cases last year.
Considering that applications for industrial accidents for thermal diseases are usually received after late summer, applications and approvals are expected to increase further by the end of the year.
From 2018 to last year, the number of industrial accidents approved for thermal diseases was 35 in 2018, 26 in 2018, 13 in 2020, 19 in 2021, and 31 last year.
