A meeting place will be held for senior citizens aged 65 or older in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Jongno-gu District (District Mayor Chung Moon-soo) announced that it will hold the "Jongro Good Life Challenge," a solo project for the elderly, at Unhyeon Palace in Unni-dong on the 23rd.

The event was designed with the hope that senior citizens who spend their time alone will participate in making friends where they can rely on each other to ease loneliness and spend a happy old age.

Until the 17th, Jongno-gu received 40 applications, including 20 men and 20 women. The participants are single men and women over the age of 65 living in Jongno-gu.

The event will be followed from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the front yard of Unhyeon Palace's presbytery, in the order of self-introduction, group conversation, and 1:1 free conversation, recreation and matching time for ice-breaking.

Jongno-gu said, "We expect the elderly to form new social relationships and have a positive perception of life through this program, which was planned as part of the creation of an elderly-friendly city."
