In the parliamentary audit of the Korea Communications Standards Commission of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee, the ruling and opposition parties fought over the attempt to block access to the "preview" of Kim Gun-hee's luxury bag receipt video.

The opposition party criticized Ryu in November last year, saying that the director-general in charge, who was ordered by Korea Communications Standards Commission Chairman Ryu Hee-rim, tried to put it on the agenda to determine whether to block the trailer, but the broadcast could be aired due to opposition from the team leader.

On the other hand, the ruling party countered that the trailer of the video could seriously affect public opinion and influence if YouTube or broadcasts are released without knowing the purpose of the review.

The ruling and opposition parties also clashed over Ryu's second term.

The opposition party called for the removal of the nameplate of the chairman of the committee, saying, "There are only three members of the six-term committee from the nine-member Korea Communications Standards Commission, but we chose the sixth chairman along with two members of the five-term committee recommended by the ruling camp."

The ruling party argued that the Korea Communications Standards Commission has sufficient discretion due to the nature and seriousness of Korean broadcasting, saying that there is no provision in the regulations that a majority of the members must attend to make an announcement or decision.
